Ricco Burn Re-Seeding - 09.30.06
The Hike to Re-Seed begins. We followed the old Black Hills & Ft. Pierre Railroad grade.
Can you find the Norbeck hikers?
In search of "The Stone Giant".
Things have slightly changed,
But we found it!
The views were spectacular.
Then we enter the burned area.
Though it appears to be an area of great destruction. You can see that the Earth has a way of repairing itself.
What the Earth can't repair is the devastation from OHV's.
So we gave the Earth a hand.
With the help of Earthorizons and the National Forest Service we closed unauthorized trails and re-seeded the desecrated areas.
Thank you to everyone who helped.
A job well done!
